New York Agri-Women will host a Western New York Spring Meet-up on March 9th from 1:00-3:00 pm at McCormick Farms, Inc. located in Wyoming County. The meet-up will take place at the farm’s main facility located at 4189 Rt. 78, Bliss. McCormick Farms began operation in 1945 and is currently owned and operated by Jim McCormick.

Today, the farm has grown to operate over 8,000 acres of tillable land. McCormick Farms, Inc. consists of two entities. The potato entity grows chipping potatoes and has the capacity to store 70,000,000 lbs. of potatoes in a climate controlled environment to allow shipment to processing companies ten months a year. The dairy entity consists of the milking facility that milks 1,700 cows in a rotary style parlor and the Plato Brook facility that is currently used to house heifers and young stock. Chris Hansen, Operations Manager will be hosting NYAW on a tour through the potato wash plant and storage facility. The tour will be followed by refreshments and social time with fellow NYAW.

There is no cost to attend this event and no need to be a NYAW member. RSVP’s are greatly appreciated to Katie Carpenter, NYAW Secretary and Wyoming Co.
