Information for Flood Victims

September 9th, 2011 @ 3:12 pm by Julie Patterson

Danielle Penney is a new member of NYAW and offered some links for information for flood victims. Thank you Danielle–many need this information! She had a roundtable discussion last week and attended an emergency meeting for producers yesterday in Orange County with approximately 200 + in attendance. There was a panel set up with approximately 15 people from the following agencies – FEMA, FSA, NYS Dept of Ag & Markets, Cooperative Extension, NYCAMH, Farm Credit East, Quality Milk, Soil & Water Conservation, Crop Growers Insurance & NYS Department of Labor.

Here are some links with pertinent references pertaining to disaster relief:

For those of you who are curious about the policy positions from our parent organization, you can find the 2009 American Agri-Women (“AAW”) Policy Statements here.  You can already read about AAW’s legislative accomplishments here.  I am going to try to attend the annual convention in St. Louis in November.  Please let me know if you are interested in attending.
